thread size ?

I have a early bsa 1964 I was wondering what size the threads are on the fuel petcock ? I am trying to but a tap to clean up the threads. tia aprophet aka david

The thread is a 1/4" BSP (British Standard Pipe)

The American version is tapered, the original British pipe is not.
