Hi British Fasteners,
In my workshop we would need to cut screws to custom length and then fit a nut. Problem is that when we cut, the srew's thread is damaged and we can't fit the nut. In principle, we currently use only one size (width) of screw and nut.
I've been advised that a "Tap & Die Set" will solve the problem. If this is the case that would be just super. In my area, there is no such thing to be found. Before I buy one unseen, may I ask your advice. Will this actually fit the purpose, how would it work and what do I need to look out for?
If the "Tap & Die Set" will not solve the problem, is there another way?
I greatly appreciate your advice!
