Would the 4 piece everest combination open spanners work on this

It certainly would work on any of the British hardware that is on the bike. I am not sure that there is a ton of it on your model but the set you bought covers all Whitworth sizes from 1/8" to 9/16"

A 9/16"W is 1.01" Across Flats, so thats a fair size. The kit may not get ALL of the hardware but it should cover most bases.

Please also remember that there could be UNF, UNC, Metric, BA and SAE hardware on the bike. Whitworth wrenches will not work on any of these other sizes.
