One of our customers pointed out some useful information that may be good to know!!!!

"Since I wrote, I found that 5/16x27 is standard for English shotgun accessories. It will be used on brass so it doesn't have to be as carefully tempered. The 3/16x26 is used on a ram rod bayonet of a 1888 Springfield trapdoor rifle. I am thinking of making accessories for each type. How much is the 3/16x26 tap and how do I order?"

Thanks for the info Alan!!!

Apparently, the larger sizes previously mentioned are used for bores and the remainder of most fasteners in old British guns are British Assoc. (BA) threads.
